The strongest of the Trinity
In Hinduism, trinity consists of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Maheshwara (Shiva). Lord Shiva is the one considered to be responsible for both creation as well as destruction. Lord Shiva, in a way has a number of personalities trapped inside him. He is sometimes a yogi who meditates, a dancer, a lover and over all a lord. If we break it down, Shiva actually stands for Sha-ee-va, each of which has a separate and distinctive meaning-
- Sha means body
- Ee for the life giving energy
- Va for motion
In other words, Shiva represents life and its movement; Shiva is the life in our body. To attain both atonement as well as liberation, it is necessary to worship Lord Shiva for then only will your sin will be forgiven and you will find the way forward on your path.
The supreme power
Lord Shiva is a force in progression. He is both the creator and the destroyer of the universe. He takes care of the lifecycle and keeps the universe in balance. He ensures that the evil is destroyed and good thrives. Worshipping him helps get rid of the evil within you-ego, jealousy, cruelty etc.
Not so judgmental
Lord Shiva does not judge his devotees. He treats all his devotees equally and makes sure that he does not pass any sort of judgment on them. Always showering his blessings on those who follow him, worshipping Lord Shiva certainly reaps a number of benefits.
